About Rieger Logging, LLC
As a young kid growing up, I was surrounded by the logging process. I spent my Saturday mornings with my dad when he was cutting timber, waiting for him to run out of gas so I could refuel his power saw or set chokers behind the dozer with my uncle. The most important lesson that I was taught during these impressionable years was this: a forest is a renewable resource, and each stage of a timber stand has a purpose. We need all stages of timber to have a thriving ecosystem, and as one of Oregon’s respected logging companies, it is our responsibility to value each stage for its current and future provisions.
Owning timberland is a true blessing. There is something peaceful about walking through a stand of timber and just admiring what God has created. I was blessed to be raised in the same valley as my father was, and now I am raising my kids here as well; hopefully my grandchildren will someday be able to call this home too. Because of our responsible logging practices, forty acres of timber generated an income and retirement for my late grandmother for forty years. The adjoining forty acres still provides for my father and uncle, and we harvest from it every year.
Rieger Logging is the result of responsible logging lessons learned from my father, a timber faller, and my uncle, a hook tender. Their ethics and respect for forests are what set our logging company apart from the rest. When we evaluate your timber, we look at the big picture by reading the ground and all other elements in a stand of timber. We understand that there is always more than one way to solve a problem or reach a certain goal, but some ways are more efficient and profitable than others. Rieger Logging is all about creating the ideal plan for you, the landowner.
